One week before his 11th birthday, Freddy was diagnosed with an aggressive form of soft tissue sarcoma (STS). This news was devastating for us. He would need one of his back legs amputated to remove the cancer. A costly surgery for us during the holiday season, a little hiccup in the road for our little warrior.
Experiencing first hand the high costs of canine cancer care, plus ongoing follow-up visits, I decided to shift the charitable mission of Modern Dog Mom. As of January 2025, a portion of all sales from Modern Dog Mom will be donated to organizations dedicated in helping families who need financial assistance with canine cancer related care, and to support the continuing research in the prevention and treatment of this disease.
